Family Sessions are all about capturing your family in a genuine, fun, and playful way - whether that’s cozied up at home baking or romping around the PNW looking for adventure. We’ll keep things light-hearted and give kiddos plenty of room to be themselves - wild child energy is always welcome!
Easy, Fun Photos for Playful, Cuddly Families
$775
During your Family Session you’ll play together as a family, cuddle up with your little loves, have a tickle fight, maybe dance through a field - rather than standing stiffly for an hour, we’ll do things that are actually fun for everyone. I’ll make sure we get a classic family portrait too, but the main focus of our time together is going to be PLAYING!
Your job as parents during the session is simple: enjoy your beautiful family. Keep a smile on your face, love on your kiddos and your partner, be extra cuddly and indulgent - let them explore, let them make silly faces, let them run away for a few minutes.
This whole process is not about perfection - it’s about being present with your favorite people and letting that joy shine through into your photos.
My Family Sessions are child-led - which means that I keep kids engaged by asking for their ideas, giving them options, following what lights them up, giving them breaks as needed, and quickly moving on from poses or ideas that they’re not into.

Literally every single parent worries that their children won’t behave during a session. I know it’s easier said than done, but please, try to let go of the impulse to control their behavior during the session. They don’t need to look at the camera or participate in every pose.
The more you try to direct them, the less they’ll want to listen to anyone. So hand over the reins - I will make sure to get what we need for beautiful photos. Your ONLY job for this time is to cuddle, love on, and play with your family.

Add on a 2026 Fall Mini Session and save $75! This is perfect for updated, seasonal photos for holiday cards, and makes a fun family outing, too.
Fall Minis are held in October and November. Tree Farm Minis will be at a gorgeous tree farm in the NW Portland hills (20 minutes from downtown Portland), and autumn-themed Minis will be in the Gorge close to Multnomah Falls. The dates are released in August, and you'll get to choose your time slot before they're released to the public.

The great thing about my style of photography is that your kids do not need to stay still for an hour - or even for 5 minutes. We want them to be moving, exploring, dancing, and running because we want to capture their vibrancy, not their stiff fake smiles. I have a handful of games and silly prompts up my sleeve to encourage playful interaction.
All that being said, I do offer Half Sessions once a month in the Troutdale/Gresham/Gorge area and Mini Sessions in October and November.
my kids won't stay still for an hour - can we do a shorter session?

what should we all wear?
Every season has its beauty!
During winter, we can head out towards Mt. Hood looking for snow, or keep it cozy by snuggling up in your home.
Spring brings cherry blossoms and lots of color to local parks, and also wildflowers out in the Columbia River Gorge. Also, since many people haven't figured out that spring is really a great time of year for family photos, you get the benefit of a not-stressed photographer, more flexibility in scheduling, and faster turnaround times. Be the trend-setter in your friend group and do your family photos in the spring this year! (P.S. You can also pair your spring family session with a fall mini session at a discount!)
Summer is great for family photos along river beaches, in parks, and in your back yard; the later sunset means later evening sessions, but I think morning light is also really gorgeous.
Fall is the classic family photo season, and you know I love those beautiful colors! But it also comes with the cons of my schedule being super packed and the potential for rain at any moment.
when is the best time of year to book my family photos?
I am based out of Troutdale, which is right at the start of the Columbia River Gorge, 10 minutes northeast of Gresham. There are lots of locations I love to work at around the Portland area, and I am always happy to meet you at your home anywhere between Hood River and Hillsboro! I often travel to Beaverton, Tigard, North Portland, Oregon City, Lake Oswego, West Linn, and Vancouver, Washington.
