ABOUT LAUREL
I'M LAUREL & I'M SO GLAD YOU'RE HERE.
I photograph families, newborn babies, and pregnant mamas in the greater Portland, Oregon area, and my goal is always to make the photo session process easy and fun for your whole family!
I’m mother to two wild & wonderful little boys, and I've been a childcare professional for over a decade (check out my in-home daycare here!). Working with children and families is kinda my whole life.
Being so immersed in families has provided me with both perspective and a deep well of compassion. While I am deeply familiar with the challenges of parenting,
I know how to find and capture the beautiful, joyful moments that make it all worthwhile.

Sessions with me are full of play and cozy cuddles; we don't do stiff poses or forced smiles around here. I guide you into the good light, let kids be kids, and encourage silly games and lots of movement. More often than not, I get to overhear someone saying “oh, that was actually fun!” at the end of their session!
When not photographing your family or running a daycare, you can find me baking bread and treats, hiking in the Columbia River Gorge or hanging by the Sandy River with my own family, and doing endless piles of laundry and dishes. There’s usually an audiobook on deck.
I love creativity in all its forms, and have been told my motto should be "thanks, I made it!"
I work with families in the whole Portland area - all of Multnomah County, Clackamas County, and Washington County. I'm located in Troutdale, right at the start of the Columbia River Gorge, with easy access to Portland proper as well as eastern towns like Gresham and southern areas like Oregon City and West Linn. I'm also always happy to head west to Beaverton, Hillsboro, and the Oregon Coast.
